This paper explores the life and career of Trina Robbins, an American comic book illustrator, author, and feminist. Trina Robbins’ everlasting impact on comic book history is detrimental to understanding feminist art and design history and the transformation the comic book industry underwent following the start of her career. The research collected in this paper strives to give insight into the life, motivations, and career of famous illustrator Trina Robbins, as well as the societal views surrounding women in the workplace that were present in the United States in the 1960s and 1970s. By better understanding the societal views involving women in the workplace, one can better understand the impact Trina Robbins had on the comic book industry and feminist history as a whole.
