Isn’t it astonishing how we reached our current levels in math and astronomy? Just like evolution, these fields progressed through the efforts of many mathematicians, each contributing uniquely. In this research, we’ll explore one of the pioneering figures of early calculus: James Gregory. 
Despite his remarkable achievements—solving problems once deemed unsolvable, especially in series and infinite sums, creating the Gregorian telescope, which was revolutionary at the time, and laying the groundwork for future developments in optics and astronomy—Gregory did not receive the recognition he deserved. His work was often overlooked, limited by slower communication, a short life, and the overshadowing of figures like Newton and Leibniz. 
This research will examine how his contributions influenced notable mathematicians like Newton and Leibniz, while honoring both his legacy and the context that shaped it.
