Alternative use of Animals-The Effect of Rabbit Manure and Urine
Agricultural researchers are investigating agronomic practices that lessen waste and prevent chemical runoff and pollution through organic methods. This project expands on research into the alternative use of animals by adding to the possible significance of the non-meat uses of rabbits. This research project evaluates rabbit manure as a fertilizer and fermented rabbit urine as a pesticide. As the rabbit urine in particular demonstrated control of squash borers, an alternative to synthetic insecticides, I argue that more in depth research should be taken along with some improvements that would help further research into the ethics of animal use and organic food production.
