There are more than 70 student clubs at Messiah University, but many students find it difficult to get involved. Student participation is hindered by limited information and poor communication. To close this gap, "goSHARC" (Students HAppenings and get Recommendations for Clubs) suggests a centralized online platform. To overcome these obstacles, SHARC will provide a centralized event calendar, thorough event descriptions, discussion boards for queries and communication, and an event update notification system.
This abstract outline the key features of our platform, which is currently in its mid development stages. To make sure the platform successfully meets their needs, we will compile requirements from different clubs. Both desktop and mobile accessibility will be taken into consideration while designing the platform's user-friendly interface. By the end of the semester, we aim to develop a functional prototype and assess its potential impact on student engagement through surveys and participation data. The long-term goal is to create a sustainable platform that fosters a vibrant campus community by facilitating seamless interaction between clubs and students.
