Platinum and palladium diimine complexes function as catalysts in a variety of important chemical processes. This study investigates metal complexes with the novel ligand 2,2’-biquinoline (bqu) and related analogs. The products were confirmed and characterized using UV/Visible spectroscopy and ¹H NMR spectrometry. Future work will focus on refining synthetic parameters and using the products as precursors to additional metal complexes.
