Participant Expectations

NCUR 2023 is a gathering of colleagues committed to the value of scholarly and creative dialogue in general and undergraduate student scholarship and creative activity. NCUR 2023 is committed to providing an atmosphere that encourages the free expression and exchange of ideas as they relate to undergraduate research. Furthermore, the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire upholds the philosophy of equal opportunity for and treatment of all community participants and staff. It is the policy of UW-Eau Claire to maintain an academic and work environment free of discrimination, discriminatory harassment, and retaliation for all students and employees. This policy applies to all programs and activities, and employment practices and operations; including the conduct of all students and employees arising out of their employment, educational or academic status, as well as to the conduct of all guests, visitors, vendors, contractors, subcontractors and others who do business with UW-Eau Claire.

Expectations of Event Attendees

As students, faculty, organizations, and institutions involved in undergraduate research, scholarship, and creative inquiry, we have the professional and ethical responsibility to maintain the highest professional conduct standards in our words, actions, and deeds.

All participants are expected to show courtesy and civility to all conference attendees and event staff; conduct themselves in a manner both professional and ethical; avoid engaging in any unacceptable behavior such as discrimination or harassment. Every interaction should be appropriate and considerate of the wide audience of attendees.

UW-Eau Claire is committed to providing a safe, welcoming, and inclusive meeting environment for all participants. If you believe you have experienced or witnessed discrimination or harassment we ask that you immediately notify the conference organizers at ncur2023@uwec.edu so that we may take immediate action. Anyone experiencing or witnessing unacceptable behavior that constitutes an immediate or serious threat to personal or public safety should immediately contact UW-Eau Claire University Police and/or local law enforcement.

Conference Release

All conference participants must read, acknowledge and accept the terms of the conference release prior to attending the conference. The conference release can be found here. All conference participants must read this release document and will have two opportunities to acknowledge their understanding and acceptance of this release 1) abstract submission and 2) registration payment.
