Preconference: WiscLSAMP Conference at UW-Eau Claire

This event is for WiscLSAMP members only. You must be registered for the WiscLSAMP Conference and NCUR 2023 to participate.

The Wisconsin Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (WiscLSAMP) is an alliance of 18 colleges and universities across Wisconsin. WiscLSAMP sponsors activities that promote training and recruitment of underserved minority students who complete their undergraduate degrees in STEM disciplines; pursue graduate degrees in STEM and seek STEM career paths.The renewal of an annual WiscLSAMP meeting in conjunction with attendance at the NCUR 2023 is a great way to celebrate the STEM research of WiscLSAMP students and promote collaboration among WiscLSAMP faculty.

You may be eligible to join WiscLSAMP if you are a:

  1. Student from an ethnically underrepresented group in S.T.E.M., (African-American, American Indian/Native American, Hispanic, Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander, and Southeast Asian),
  2. Majoring/minoring in S.T.E.M. and
  3. Attending one of our WiscLSAMP Alliance institutions.

  • Lunch and Dinner on Wednesday (sponsored by WiscLSAMP)
  • Early Access to NCUR Future Fair Booths
  • WiscLSAMP Annual Meeting for Faculty
  • Admittance to the Quick Pitch How-to Sessions on Friday and Saturday

How This Works

  • Students submit an abstract to NCUR. Absracts are accepted Oct. 3, 2022 – Nov. 30, 2022.
  • Students must be registered for the WiscLSAMP conference by Feb. 28, 2023.
  • Students must be registered for NCUR 2023 by Feb. 28, 2023.
  • Students interested in the WiSys Quick Pitch must also register for the WiSys Quick Pitch Competition by February 28, 2023, and follow the instructions for that pre-conference.

If you are a student attending a WiscLSAMP alliance institution (see list below) and you are interested in receiving funding to attend NCUR 2023, please contact your WiscLSAMP campus coordinator/faculty or WiscLSAMP Executive Director, Dr. Norma Jimenez Hernandez (njimenezhern@wisc.edu).
