NCUR 2023 Campus Fun

Thursday, April 13 & Friday, April 14

Among Us/Gaming Room- eSports Lab

When: Thursday & Friday from 1-4 p.m. 
Where: eSports Lab -Upper Campus | Hilltop Center, Room 119
Capacity: Limited to 10 people at a time and 90-minute play per person. Seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Visit the eSports Lab in Hilltop Center. This lab is used for both competitive and recreational gaming experiences. You can participate in playing Call of Duty, Rainbow Six Siege, CS:GO, Apex Legends, League of Legends, Rocket League, Overwatch, Fortnite, Super Smash Bros.,Valorant, OSU!, and Halo Infinite.

Kubb Demonstration

When: Thursday, 1-2 p.m. | Friday, 2-3 p.m.
Where: Campus Mall 
Capacity: Limited to 25 people at a time on a first-come, first-served basis.

Eau Claire knows a thing or two about the lawn game, Kubb. Okay, it knows a lot about Kubb. In fact, Eau Claire is the official “Kubb Capital of North America.” The city hosts the annual U.S. National Kubb Championships, set for July, drawing upwards of 125 teams from all over the country. Not familiar with this sport with Viking roots? Join us and learn about this growing national pastime.

Makerspace Crafts Workshops – Sustainability Focus

When: Thursday, 2-3 p.m. | Friday, 2-3 p.m.

Where: McIntyre Library | Lower Level, Room 109
Join Makerspace to learn a way to become more sustainable. The Makerspace is in the McIntyre Library. In the Makerspace, you will let your creativity run wild and come together with others to create. This event will focus on reusing items to create sustainable items. You do not want to miss what could be your new favorite item!

Movie Night at Woodland Theater - Now Showing "Basis of Sex: Ruth Bader Ginsberg"

When: Thursday, 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Where: W.R. Davies Center - Woodland Theater, Room 328
Capacity: Limited to 190 people at a time on a first-come, first-served basis.

Music Bingo

When: Thursday, 5:30-7:00 p.m. 
Where: W.R. Davies Center | (The Cabin) Room 179

Music and Bingo?  Join us for a fun, unique music and bingo experience. Play along to Music Bingo in Davies Center, Room 179 (The Cabin) with host and MC Missy Reece of Carlson Entertainment. Prizes will be awarded for each game. Just say BINGO!

Open Conversation & Games

When: Thursday, 1-5 p.m. | Friday, 1-4 p.m.
Where: Campus Mall

Take a few minutes to relax, meet new people, or play a game (ladder golf/bean bag toss/spike ball). While there, you can check out the Student Organization Fair - or visit the conversation area which is open to all attendees.

Quiet Space

When: Thursday, 8 a.m. - 7:30 p.m. | Friday, 8 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Where: McIntyre Library - 4th & 5th Floor

Need a break or a space to practice your presentation? Sit down and get away from the hustle and bustle of NCUR by enjoying a quiet atmosphere to recharge. Visit the Rest Nest on the 5th floor (Rm 5011) in McIntyre Library.

Recreational Activities

When: Thursday, 12:00-1:30 pm  | Friday, 12:00-1:30 pm
Where: Hilltop Recreation Center - Upper Campus, Room 105

Enjoy the outdoors, get some exercise, or just have fun. The recreation department of UW-Eau Claire is available to help. They offer such activities as a bouldering wall, disc golf (check out a disc at Hilltop), billiards, table tennis, air hockey, access to fitness centers, gyms, an outdoor track, outdoor Vita Course, yard games and more.

Student Organization Fair

When: Thursday, 1-4 p.m. | Friday, 1-4 p.m.
Where: Centennial Hall - 3nd Floor Lobby, "The Lantern"

Visit the Student Organization Fair on the first floor of Centennial Hall. You will have opportunities on both Thursday and Friday to see a variety of spotlighted student organizations and the opportunity to interact with UW-Eau Claire students

Therapy Dogs

When: Thursday, 3-5 p.m. 
Where: McIntyre Library - 1st Floor, Checkout Desk Area

Looking to relieve some stress during NCUR? McIntyre Library will be hosting therapy dogs during your busy conference days. Therapy dogs will be brought to campus by their owners or handlers, all with the temperament and training to provide affection and emotional comfort.
